[Private to Remus]
Are you busy this weekend? And if you are, can I hide out in your rooms anyway? Oi, I'm going mad here. I'm violently bored at the moment, we're not getting anywhere in Hermione's any of the cases we're working long term, and OI I'm going to kill Charlie if I don't get to Nora first or perhaps both, I haven't decided.
Did a bit of reading (I know, I know!) and the kittens are big enough to leave alone in the box with Castor now so if I'm gone an evening or two it won't be the end of the world. Please? [/Hex]
Oi. I'm giving up gardening. Forever. I'm hiring Neville to do all of my plants ever and we're going to pretend this little pepper incident never happened. | | Tuesday, March 4th, 2008 | | 7:32 pm |
Oh, Merlin, it's been a rough couple of days. I was right, though. Motherly instinct apparently won out. I thought Castor looked ready to have her kittens, but she still hadn't by the time I left for work Saturday evening. But early Sunday morning, guess what? You've got it! Noah, Castor's a mummy. Are you proud? You ought to be. She's really quite good at it, I think. Everyone looks pretty healthy, eating and all by themselves. She did all the work herself, too, which was great since me? I was a nervous wreck. I think I was more calm when I had Felicity! ( Spellotaped to Tonks' journal )So, according to all the stuff that I've read (why yes, I have been reading), the babies will need at least six weeks with mum before they can go to new homes, but most of they are definitely looking for new homes. Congratulations, Noah, baby, I only wish you were here with them. Then I might not have been so nervous! ( Hexed to Teddy )( Hexed to Remus ) | | Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 | | 1:44 pm |
( Hexed Private )Back to the midnight shift. Fun times? I don't mind it, I guess, it's just awfully quiet. And boring. Almost makes me want to take up knitting again. Almost. And, you know, owls? Aren't non-existant. Neither are journal entries saying, "Hey Mum/Sweetheart, everything's going great, just thought I'd let you know". Hmm? Noah, this cat looks ready to burst. And is she going to be okay doing this mostly on her own or am I going to have to play kitten nurse-maid? | | Thursday, January 10th, 2008 | | 7:50 am |
( Hexed Private )Noah, pumpk love? Someone's going to have to watch this menagerie if we're going away. They won't feed themselves and someone needs to come by and check on the almost mummy. There are times I truly love my job. Being able to arrange portkeys without blinking an eye? That would be one of those times. Though I think someone ought to be willing to volunteer with currency conversion. Now, who do we know who'd be able to do that, hmm? | | Monday, December 17th, 2007 | | 10:46 pm |
I know some people complain about how much it rains here, but Merlin I love it. Especially on a lazy summer afternoon when you're off of work and you've nothing to do but curl up in the big fluffy chair by the window, cat in your lap, and read for hours. Wuthering Heights today, though I've got to admit, Catherine is hardly my idea of a role model. She just seems so weak to me. Anyone who'd let small things stand in the way of I think Emily is officially my least favourite Bronte. Ah well, it's a fluffy read anyway.
You know, it's funny. I don't remember this cat being, say, mine. New recruit, Noah? He's a good little thing, at least. Hardly meows and has kept my lap warm for-Merlin, has it really been two hours already? And here I thought I was getting good at not losing track of time. Suppose dinner ought to be in the works soon. And I really should get up and do a load of laundry - I'm almost out of clean socks and I notice Felicity's favourite shirt's in there again.
One more chapter. I swear, I'll get up after one more chapter. |
